WHO WE ARE

Dani Foods Africa is a global supplier of dried herbs & spices and is committed to working with its network of farmers to carefully cultivate long-term partner relationships.

Our services are designed for trade customers who require substantial deliveries of bulk raw ingredients, herbs, spices, fruits & nuts for commercial or otherwise substantial production.  All our products are carefully sourced from our network of farmers to ensure the highest quality raw ingredients are always delivered to you.

We have come a long way since 2006 when we started out as a small family business trading in spices.    Over the years, our size may have changed but one underlying idea has stayed the same – the customer is at the centre of everything we do.

We are proud to be a leader in the dried raw ingredients market.    The team in Africa is managed by Arun Poppet. An experienced Spice trader, Arun is focused on quality.     We support our customers with a dedicated team of sales associates and quality specialists to ensure the best available products are delivered.

Dani Foods, is a leading supplier of organic spices and herbs. Healthy eating and sustainable living are not just a choice we make, it is a passion. A passion that goes from field to fork.

This is why our journey starts at the very grass roots. We work with farmers to educate and certify them, we are deeply aware of the quality of the products we source and where they originate. We take great pride in our integrated supply chain, sourcing only the highest quality products with strict quality measures in place to maintain their standards.

Integrity and Quality

Dani Foods works closely with its farmers and growers to ensure the quality and food safety of all products.

We only work with farmers who are able to meet our exacting standards to ensure all products meet food safety specifications.   Raw materials and finished products are analysed both on site, and off site at our contracted accredited laboratory.

A sustainable future

Ensuring sustainable spice production can be a complex challenge given the environmental impacts and working conditions within the supply chain.

Our approach to sourcing spices sustainably

We work with our suppliers and farmers to better understand our spices and the supply chains, to ensure that we are able to source the materials responsibly and deliver greater positive outcomes for farming and communities in the long run.

In order to overcome the difficulties and achieve a greater level of transparency, we have established a program that aims to source only from primary processors. These supply partners are chosen for their consistent high quality and reliability, their proximity to farming communities and their commitment to working in close collaboration with farmers.

Our strict quality and ethical requirements are clearly communicated by our managers, risk assessments and quality audits to ensure compliance.  Our managers closely work with the farmers and growers to help monitor performance and identify suppliers where further engagement and training may be necessary.

Dani Foods is committed to driving out acts of Modern Slavery from within its supply chains.  The company makes best endeavours to ensure transparency and works with several local organizations and other stakeholders to promote respect for workers’ rights and have a positive impact on the communities in which we do business.

Natural capital

With our partners in Uganda, Madagascar and Tanzania The Dani Charitable Trust works hard to ensure we source spices responsibly. The partnerships focus on finding opportunities that will have the biggest impact, while recognizing that we do not have the influence to tackle all issues at the same time.

A vast amount of the world’s spices come from Africa and 98% of its spice output is produced by small-scale farmers, usually working on a farm smaller than two hectares, and the charity aims  to help improve the lives of our farmers  and tackle issues to ensure:-

  • Resilient livelihoods

  • Environmental sustainability of farms

  • Safe living and good working conditions

  • Workers rights and child labour.
